IATSE Local 728 is solely dedicated to the art of Lighting for Motion Pictures and Television productions. Chartered in 1939 we have a long and distinguished history setting the standard for both efficiency and safety on set. IATSE Local 728 has long been a leader in the areas of Safety & Training in the Entertainment Industry. Members enjoy one of the most progressive and varied training programs found anywhere. IATSE Local 728 was one of the first Locals to place an emphasis on set safety and in conjunction with CSATTF (Contract Services Administration Training Trust Fund), created the Safety Qualified Technician Program which set the groundwork for the current Safety Pass Program. We are an active participants in several national and international organizations such as: PLASA, ETCP, and the LDI Trade Show and Convention.
