Projection Content Creation: The Basics
$195 ($250 after 9/14) Class limit: 16 Hands-on: Must bring own laptop with a current version of Adobe Photoshop CS installed and running* This course is designed to give students or professionals with little to no experience in working with digital imagery a primer in creating content for projection/media design. This introductory session will cover the following topics: understanding resolution and image formats, using layers and transparency, basic image editing and manipulation, and best practices for workflow management. *Software to be used: A current version of Adobe Photoshop installed and running (CS5, 5.5, or 6 will be sufficient for the class, but there have been changes to the over look and feel of the software.) Target audience: Targeted towards those who want an introduction to some of Photoshop’s most powerful and fundamental tools from the professional media and projection designer’s point of view. Session highlights: video mapping, content creation for narrative performance—learn these tools: layers, masks, and blending.
