DIY Lighting with Smart LEDs and Microcontrollers
Smart LED components are cheap and readily available, but how do you use them effectively to create your own lighting designs and artwork? This session provides an introduction to Smart LEDs to get you started building your own LED fixtures, appliances, and installations, from basic understanding of smart LED types and protocols (WS2811, etc.) to knowledge of readily available product types, such as strips, modules, and matrices. Topics include options for microcontrollers & power for smart LEDs; common pitfalls working with smart LED components; overview of code libraries for smart LEDs.
