LDI 2017

Jayme Smothers specializes in themed lighting design and has experience with both live entertainment and architectural lighting. Her passion and love for lighting design streams from an inner drive to reconstruct darkness while paying great attention to detail and control. Smothers has an MFA in theatrical lighting from the University of Memphis, and has over 20 years of experience in designing and managing lighting projects in the US and abroad. She recently helped open 3 theme parks in Dubai. Both an IES award and USITT lighting design award winner, her design process is uniquely informed by her experience working in multiple facets of the lighting industry, including lighting manufacturing, representative, and engineering.
